Back to school Week #2!

Hey Everyone!

So as the title says it's back to school week #2! Man! I can't believe how the time flies, I mean one minute I am hanging at the pool and the next I am having homework out the wazoo!!!

My life has been interesting...  I have been trying new things, doing well in school, and I have my fingers crossed to get this job at my Church!! So yeah, life has been good! :)  While expanding my mind, I have also been trying some new recipes and thought I would share.

Pancakes have been on the brain...  These are by FAR the best pancakes I have had! Not only are the healthy (as pancakes go) but they taste amazing!!! Get the recipe here.

Hey...

Sorry for the lack of posts.... I have been working on improving some areas of my life and just taking a little time off to visit with family.   I have been enjoying my summer, I just can't believe it's almost over!! UGH! Haha

I just want to take a moment to share some things that have been happening to me these last couple of months.

First off, I was inspired by a fellow blogger to try going raw.  Raw meaning nothing heated over 118 degrees, and when I say raw I mean in food in it's purest form! ;) I am excited to share my raw "journey".  I can't wait to share recipes, swaps blogs, and inspire others to try going raw!! All I could think when I started was... I don't want the same foods for the rest of my life.  Boy was I wrong about eating the same foods over and over, but more on that later!

Also, I have been teaching a friend of mine how to sew! She just made the cutest pillows!!! I can't wait to share more! :)

How is everything in your part of the world?? I will be getting back to blogging soon!

Here's what my tutorial is about... see these lovelies?

Sorry for that sudden absence but I have been under the weather lately... stiff joints, stomach, head... yeah, the whole sha=BANG!  I am starting to get better and I can't wait to show you what I have planned! But, in the meantime head over HERE to see my latest tutorial.  Although it's not mentioned in the tutorial all I spent to make these were $0.20! Pretty sweet huh? :)

Be back soon!

Upcycled String T-Shirt Scarf!

I have been going through my craft room lately, looking through all of my "needs to be refashioned pile" and I found this old yet still cool Rain Forest Cafe shirt... I loved the rain forest cafe! I totally recommend it to anyone! haha Now as I was saying I found this old ribbed knit (has to be a knit) tie dyed t-shirt that was begging to be made into something pretty... do you ever have clothes that you want to refashion and know just what to do with them? That's the kind of moment I had with this shirt...
I give you... Upcycled String T-Shirt Scarf!
Just grab any old (or new) t-shirt, scissors (or rotary cutter and mat)... Let's get started!

Put the bottom of the T-shirt together (the hem) and cut it off (shown in two photos below).

Cut the shirt into 2 inch strips all the way up to the arm pit seam.  You should get 4-6 strips depending on the size.
 Like so!
Now take a strip of the shirt, I had a total of 5, but you can have as many as you want!  The shirt could be white and you could dye it or you could even have (I thought about this a lot, okay) multiple t-shirts with ton's of different colors!
Stretch the strip as far as it will go!
Repeat with all other strips.  Gather all the stretched strips and put the together.
Take a bit of the sleeve, stretch it, and tie a knot through all the pieces!
 Like so...
You DONE!  Think of all the fun colors and ways you can wear it!  Here are three ways... #1 Just put it over your head.
#2 Wrap around your head twice!
 #3 Knot to bottom..
Enjoy!
